excerpt from a book of linocuts I made in high school.
the little boy’s nanny decides he needs to “face his fear,” so she drags him out to the yard and plops him under a really leafy tree in the middle of the day. terrified and surrounded by monsters, he clings to the tree trunk until the light changes and he can escape without having to touch its shadow.
